Class surveys are a fact for captains of superyachts built to class whether they be LLoyds, ABS, RINA or DNV and they provide a crucial method for maintaining the high safety standards required to safeguard human lives and protect the ocean ecosystems they navigate.
But with surveys coming around every 5 years and the special survey with ABS at 15 years they can be daunting taking up a significant amount of time and money to plan and undertake any works necessary to maintain class status.

EXAMPLES OF SURVEY REQUIREMENTS
(these will vary according to the vessel’s condition and applicable class rules)
Electrical, metal, and mechanical elements for example servicing or replacing valves, pumps, or motors.
Testing electrical systems. Replacing sections of thin or corroded plating.
